How to Make Ragi Samosa Recipe

Ingredients for Ragi Samosa Recipe

  • Ragi flour – 220 gm
  • Carom seeds – 1/2 Tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 Tsp
  • Green chilli – 1 (chopped)
  • Raisins – 20 gm
  • Turmeric – 1/2 Tsp
  • Potato – 25 gm (boiled)
  • Mint leaves – 1 handful
  • Water – 120 ml
  • Salt as required
  • Ginger – 5 gm chopped
  • Cashews – 20 gm
  • Cucumber – 2 (chopped)
  • Peas – 40 gm (boiled)
  • Coriander leaves – 1 handful
  • Oil – 250 ml


  • Take ragi flour in a bowl and add water and mix well to have the consistency of a pancake batter then cook this batter in microwave for 30-40 sec
  • Remove it from oven and allow it to cool
  • By adding more ragi flour, carom seeds and salt knead a semi hard dough and keep it aside
  • Heat a pan over medium flame, saute the cumin seeds until it begins to sizzle
  • Add ginger, green, chillies, cashew nut and raisins fry for a couple of minutes
  • Now add cucumbers, turmeric powder, peas, and potatoes to the pan. Mix all ingredients well and saute them for 3-4 minutes
  • Add salt to taste
  • Sprinkle fresh coriander and mint leaves allow it to cool down for later use
  • Divide the dough into smaller portions and then flatten it to oval or in oblong shapes and cut into half
  • Use little water over edges and join them to make a cone
  • Fill the cones with mixture and close the edges
  • Heat oil in a pan for deep fry and fry the samosas until done
  • Drain the samosa on kitchen paper towel and serve with tomato ketchup, tamarind chutney or mint chutney
