Malai Kofta Recipe Restaurant Style Step by Step

Ingredients for Malai Kofta Curry Recipe

  • Paneer – 200 grams (grated)
  • Tomatoes – 3 medium (roughly chopped)
  • Cashewnuts – 1/4 cup
  • Melon seeds – 2 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds – 1 tsp
  • Ginger – 1 tsp (chopped)
  • Green cardamoms – 2
  • chilli powder to taste
  • garam masala powder to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil as required
  • Curd – 1/4 cup
  • Green cardamom powder – ¼ tsp
  • Maida – 2 tsp
  • Fresh cream – 3 tbsp



  • Heat some oil in a pressue cooker and add roughly chopped tomatoes along with cashewnuts, melon seeds, poppy seeds, ginger, green cardamoms, red chilli powder,salt and stir fry well for 3-4 mins
  • Add curd and mix well
  • Add water as required and close the cooker with the lid
  • Cook under pressure for 4 whistles and keep it aside
  • Take a pan
  • Heat sufficient oil in pan
  • Take a bowl add grated paneer, green cardamom powder, flour, salt to taste and mix well take small portions and make them in koftas shape and deep fry these kofta pieces till they turn golden
  • Drain kofta pieces on tissue paperand keep them aside
  • Open pressure cooker lid and blend the mixture in a blender keep it aside
  • Take a pan heat 2 tsp of oil and add blended paste and cook for few mins
  • Add required amount of garam masala and cream stir well
  • Finally arrange koftas in a serving bowl and pour the gravy over koftas
  • Garnish with little cream and serve hot
