Kadai Mutton Recipe Restaurant Style

Here is the recipe to prepare kadai mutton in restaurant style

Ingredients for kadai mutton/ kadai gosht recipe

  • Lamb/ mutton – 1 kg (cut into 2″ pieces)
  • Yogurt – 1 cup
  • Garlic paste – 2 Tbsp
  • Lemon juice – 2 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooking oil – 3 Tbsp
  • Coriander powder – 2 Tsp
  • Cumin powder – 1 Tsp
  • Garam masala powder – 2 Tsp
  • Tomato – 2 medium (finely chopped)
  • Green chillies – 4 (chopped lengthwise)
  • Ginger juliennes for garnishing
  • Fresh coriander to garnish (finely chopped)


  • Take a big mixing bowl and mix the lamb/ mutton with the yogurt, garlic paste, lemon juice, garam masala powder and salt to taste, cover it with a lid and marinate it for 3-4 hours
  • Heat oil in a Kadai on a medium flame, add green chillies once they start spluttering add the lamb with its marinade and fry for few minutes, stir continuously
  • Now add chopped tomatoes, coriander powder and cumin powder and stir well
  • Then sprinkle some water over the meat, cover it with lid and continue to cook on medium low flame till the meat is done
  • Check occasionally and add more water if required to prevent sticking and burn
  • Once the gravy thickens turn off the flame and serve it in a serving bowl
  • Garnish it with ginger and coriander leaves and serve hot with Chapati, Roti or Naans
