Grilled Dhokla Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients for Grilled Dhokla Sandwich


  • Dhokla batter – 4 cups
  • Corn kernels – 2-3 tbsp (crushed)
  • Capsicums – 1 (finely chopped)
  • Paneer – 2 tbsp (grated)
  • Green chillies – 2(crushed)
  • Chaat masala – 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves – 2tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  • White sesame seeds – 1 tsp
  • Green chutney for spreading
  • Ghee 2 teaspoons for basting
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper powder to taste
  • Oil (for greasing)



  • Take dhokla batter in a bowl add salt and mix well and keep it aside, Heat  some water in the dhokla steamer
  • Grease the dhokla moulds with oil, pour dokla batter sprinkle some pepper powder on top, place the moulds in the hot steamer and steam till done. Remove dhoklas from steamer, let it cool and de mold
  • Add corn kernels, add capsicum, cottage cheese, green chillies, chaat masala and coriander leaves in a deep bowl and mix well all the ingredients.
  • Add salt to taste and mix well.
  • Cut the steamed dhoklas into roundels
  • Spread some green chutney on one side of the dokla. Spread some stuffing on top of half the dhokla and cover with remaining roundels, chutney side down.
  • Heat a grill pan, add some ghee and mustard seeds and let mustard seeds to splutter. Add sesame seeds and remaining coriander leaves. Place the sandwiches in the pan and grill, turning sides, till it become light golden, basting with some ghee
  • serve it in a serving plate
  • Serve hot with your likes
