Easy Raw Banana Fry Recipe

Ingredients for Raw Banana Fry Recipe

  • Raw banana – 2 big (chopped)
  • Onion – 1 (finely chopped)
  • Garlic cloves – 6 (smashed)
  • Green chili – 5-6 (finely chopped)
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Turmeric powder – 2 pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 3 Tbsp
  • Water as needed (for boiling raw banana)
  • Urad dal – 1 Tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 Tsp
  • Bengal gram – 1 Tsp


  • Firstly take a bowl add water, salt, 1 pinch of turmeric powder and raw banana, and bring them to a boil till the raw banana is half cooked. Drain the water and keep the cooked bananas aside to cool
  • Take a non-stick pan, heat some oil in it and add Mustard seeds, urad dal and Bengal gram, fry for few seconds
  • Add onions, garlic, green chilies, curry leaves and fry for 2-3 mins
  • Add turmeric powder and salt to taste, mix well
  • Now add the boiled banana and stir well
  • You can also add a Tbsp of oil while adding boiled banana
  • Fry the banana mixture for few minutes and serve it in a serving bowl

Serve hot with steamed rice
