Christmas Cake Recipe Indian Style

Ingredients for Christmas Cake Recipe

  • Dried cranberries – 150 gm
  • Raisins – 150 gm
  • Orange zest – 2 Tbsp
  • Butter – 150 gm
  • Cinnamon – 1 Tsp (powdered)
  • Egg – 3
  • Vanilla essence – 1 Tsp
  • Prunes – 200 gm (chopped)
  • Lemon – 1
  • Orange juice – 150 ml
  • All-purpose flour – 200 gm
  • Clove powder – 1/4 Tsp
  • Baking powder – ½ Tsp
  • Brown sugar – 175 gm


  • Take a large bowl add the cranberries, prunes, and raisins
  • Also add lemon juice, orange juice, and orange zest
  • Mix well all the ingredients and allow it to soak overnight
  • Preheat oven to 160 degrees C, Grease and line the 9-inch diameter pan on the base and around the periphery
  • Now transfer the soaked fruit mixture into the greased pan, place it on flame and bring the mixture to boil
  • Cook it on a low flame for 3-4 mins
  • Turn off the flame and allow it to cool
  • Take another bowl, mix all purpose flour and baking powder, and keep it aside
  • Take another bowl, beat the butter and sugar together also add eggs and mix well
  • Add the vanilla essence, cinnamon powder and clove powder, mix it well
  • Add the fruit mixture along with the juice and flour mixture mix everything well
  • Transfer it to the lined pan and level the mixture evenly with a spatula.
  • Now bake the cake for 50 minutes or bake it until skewer comes out clean
  • Let the cake to rest for few minutes inside the oven
  • Finally, take out the cake from oven and let it cool completely
  • Gently take out the pan, peel off the parchment paper and also wrap the cake well with cling film
  • Store the cake and cut it into pieces while serving
