Ingredients for making Dough

  • Maida2 cups
  • Salt to taste
  • Baking powder – 1/2 tsp

Ingredients for filling

  • Carrots – 1 cup (grated)
  • Cabbage – 1 cup grated
  • Onion – 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
  • Garlic – 1 Tsp (chopped)
  • Soya sauce – 1 Tsp
  • Vinegar – 1/4 Tsp
  • Black pepper – 1/4 Tsp
  • Oil – 1 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method

  • Mix the maida, salt, and baking powder and knead it to a stiff dough by adding water.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the onion and garlic. Saute them over the high flame and also add the carrot and cabbage.
  • Take it off from the heat and mix the Soya sauce, salt, vinegar and black pepper.
  • Now roll the maida dough to thin (translucent) and cut into 4″-5″ rounds.
  • Take a round, wet edges and place some filling in the center of dough.
  • Bring the four edges together to cover the filling.
  • Twist the dough edges to seal and fill the rest in the same way.
  • Steam the momos for about 10 minutes and serve with soya sauce and chili sauce.
