Ingredients for simple Andhra Style Chilli Chicken Recipe

  • Chicken Drumsticks pieces – 12
  • Green chillies – 25 or more (finely chopped)
  • Ginger – 2 tsp (grated)
  • Garlic – 2 tsp (grated)
  • Onions – 3 (finely chopped)
  • Coriander seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Methi seeds – 1/4 Tsp
  • Jeera – 1/4 tsp
  • Saunf – 1/4 Tsp
  • Kasuri Methi – 1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon stick – 3 big pieces
  • Cloves – 5
  • Kaloova – 1 Tsp
  • Water as required

Method

  • Take a blender add coriander seeds, methi seeds, jeera, saunf, kasuri methi, cinnamon stick, cloves and kaloova, blend it to a smooth powder
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions till they become brown
  • Add cleaned chicken and green chillies allow it to cook until all the juices are nearly evaporated
  • Add grated ginger and garlic and stir it for a few minutes
  • When the chicken is nearly done, add the powder and mix well, fry till it fragrant
  • Add some water and cook it on a low flame till the chicken is well cooked and most of the water is evaporated
  • Serve hot with steamed rice or any fried rice of our choice
