How to Make Rista

 Ingredients for Rista Recipe

  • Minced mutton – 700 gm (boneless)
  • Red chilli – 6 Tbsp (Grounded)
  • Black cardamom – 3
  • Green cardamom – 4
  • Saffron – 4 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 Tsp
  • Clove – 3
  • Cinnamon stick – 1
  • Onion shallot – 1 Tsp (crushed to paste)
  • Ghee – 4 Tbsp
  • Aniseed – 1 pinch

Method

  • Mash the mince with a hammer or in a blender and shape it into small balls
  • On a medium flame boil it in a pan with enough water to cover all the mince balls
  • Cook the balls for 10 mins or cook till the mince balls rise to the surface of the water
  • Now add the turmeric powder, red chilli paste, cloves, cinnamon, black and green cardamom, fried shallot paste and saffron water
  • Cook it for 4-5 minutes on medium flame till gravy thickens
  • Add salt to taste and mix well
  • Heat ghee in another pan, add to the mince gravy and cover the pan with the lid for 2 minutes
  • Transfer it to a serving bowl garnish with anise seed and serve hot with chapatti or steamed rice
