Ingredients for Paruppu Podi (Dhal Powder)

  • Thuvar Dhal – 1 cup
  • Red Chillies – 4
  • Jeera – 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon

Method

  • Dry fry the above ingredients separately in a kadai and let it cool.
  • Add salt and blend to a fine powder.
  • Store the powder in an airtight container.
  • Mix one or two Tsp of this powder with a Tsp of ghee and serve with steamed rice
