Paneer Tikka Masala Recipe

Ingredients for Paneer Tikka Masala

 

For Tikka

  • Paneer – 250 grams (cut in cubes)
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • Curd – 4 tsp
  • Tandoori masala powder – ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder to taste
  • Chilli powder to taste
  • Chat masala to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Kasuri methi – ½ tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp

For gravy:

  • Black cardamom – 1
  • Whole dry coriander seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon – ½ inch
  • Dry red chilli – 1
  • Cashew nuts – 10
  • Onion – 2 (finely chopped)
  • Tomato – 2 (finely chopped)
  • Turmeric – ¼ tsp
  • Kasuri methi – ½ tsp
  • Chilli powder to taste
  • Garam masala powder to taste
  • Fresh cream – 4tsp
  • Oil/butter – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • Coriander leaves – 3 tbsp (finely chopped)

Method:

Paneer tikka

  • Add thick curd, coriander powder , chilli powder, kasuri methi, chat masala powder,ginger garlic paste, tandoori masala powder, lemon juice and salt in a bowl mix well all ingredients and add paneer pieces and marinade for 4 hours
  • Now take a pan heat some oil/butter and shallow fry paneer pieces
  • Once paneer pieces are well cooked transfer them to a plate and keep it aside

Gravy for Paneer Tikka Masala

  • Take a pan heat some  oil/butter add black cardamom, dry coriander seeds, cinnamon stick, dry red chilli, cashew nuts, and sauté them for 2 mins
  • Add onions and sauté until they turn golden
  • Add tomatoes and salt stir fry until tomato become mushy
  • Now add chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala mix well and cook for 5 mins
  • Turn off flame and blend this mixture and make smooth paste of it
  • Transfer this paste in same pan and add required amount of water and cook on a medium flame for few mins
  • Add kasuri methi, paneer tikka pieces and fresh cream and stir well
  • Cook for 2 mins
  • Serve it in a serving bowl
  • Garnish with chopped corianders and serve hot
