Paneer Makhani Recipe

Ingredients for Paneer Makhani

 

  • Paneer – 250 grams (cut in cubes)
  • Indian Bay leaf – 1
  • Cinnamon – ½ inch
  • Green cardamom – 2
  • Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
  • Onion – 1 (finely chopped)
  • Garlic – 5 (finely chopped)
  • Cashew nuts – 10
  • Tomatoes – 3 (finely chopped)
  • Kasuri methi – ½ tsp
  • Chilli powder as required
  • Sugar – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Butter / oil as required
  • Fresh cream – 3 tsp
  • Water as required

Method:

  • Take a pan heat 3-4 tsp of oil /butter, add bay leaf, cinnamon, green cardamom and cumin seed stir fry for 1 min
  • Add onions, ginger garlic paste and cashew nuts fry until onion turns translucent
  • Add tomatoes and stir occasionally
  • Add chilli powder and salt according to taste sauté for 5-6 mins, add katuri methi and cook until tomatoes become soft
  • As the tomatoes turn soft turn off flame and blend this in a blender and keep it aside
  • Take a pan heat some 3 tsp of butter / oil add chopped garlic and add blended mixture and cook for 3 mins over medium flame
  •  Add suga, and required amount of water and cook for 5 mins
  • Finally add paneer pieces and cook until paneer pieces become soft then add fresh cream and mix well
  • Serve it in a serving bowl
  • Serve hot
