How to Make Garam Masala at Home

Ingredients for Garam Masala Powder Recipe

  • Mace – 10
  • Cinnamon – 8-10 inch
  • Cloves – 25
  • Green cardamoms – 25
  • Black cardamoms – 10-12
  • Nutmeg – 2
  • Bay leaves – 8-10
  • Cumin seeds – 8 Tsp
  • Dry red chilli – 4-5
  • Black peppercorns – 4 tsp

Method

  • Heat a small kadai, lightly dry roast all the ingredients one after another and keep it aside to cool
  • Take blender add all the roasted ingredients and make a fine powder
  • Store this garam masala powder in an airtight jar and use as required

 Note

  • Roast the ingredients until you could smell the aroma and be care full not to burn the spices or they will become bitter
  • Dry roast ingredients one after another, do not roast them together because spices like cumin could get burnt
