Ingredients for Kala Jamun Recipe

  • Hariyali khoya/Mawa – 3/4 cup (grated)
  • Paneer – 1/2 cup(grated)
  • Refined flour (Maida) – 3 1/2Tbsp
  • Corn flour/ cornstarch – 3 1/2 Tbsp
  • Sugar – 1 1/2 cups
  • Milk – 1Tbsp
  • Green cardamom powder – 1/4 Tsp
  • Ghee/oil – deep-frying
  • Silver Warq – as required


  • Take a bowl add the grated khoya and grated paneer mix them well
  • Add the refined flour and corn flour and knead till it smoothens
  • Divide the dough and make equal portions
  • Take one by one portion in your palm, press, and roll into a smooth ball
  • Make sure there are no cracks on the surface of dough and keep it aside
  • Take a bowl, Bring the sugar and water to a boil, stirring till the sugar dissolves completely
  • Add milk and collect the scum which rises to the surface with a ladle, and discard
  • Now add the cardamom powder and boil them on a low flame till the syrup turns a light golden
  • Turn off flame and keep it aside
  • Heat the ghee in a non-stick kadhai on medium flame. Gently drop the Jamun balls heat them and continue to fry on medium flame, stirring gently, till they become dark brown in color
  • Drain them and dip in the sugar syrup
  • Let them soak for at least 30 minutes before serving
  • Decorate them with silver foil and serve them warm or cold
