Ginger Chutney Recipe South Indian

Ingredients used in Ginger Chutney

 

  • Ginger (grated) – 250 grams
  • Salt to taste
  • Channa dal – 1tbsp
  • Fenugreek seeds – ¼ tsp
  • Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
  • Sesame seed oil – 2 tbsp
  • Tamarind juice – 1 cup
  • Jagerry – 3 tbsp
  • Hing – pinch
  • Chilli powder to taste

 

Method:

  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds chana dal, grated ginger, cook this till it become golden in colour
  • Add hing (optional), salt, tamarind juice, chilli powder and cook till the raw flavour of tamarind is gone
  • Add jagerry and cook it for 5 minutes turn off the flame
  • Serve this with dosa, idly, curd rice, or with upma also
