Gajar Halwa Recipe Step by Step – Carrot Halwa Recipe

Ingredients for Gajar Halwa Recipe

 

  • Carrots – 10 ( peel and grated )
  • Ghee – 5 tspns
  • Green cardamom powder  – 1/2 tspns
  • Sugar as required amount to taste
  • Almonds  – 8 ( sliced )
  • Cashewnuts – 10-15
  • Raisins – 10
  • Khoya/mawa – 1 cup ( optional )
  • Pistachios chopped  – 1/2cup ( optional )
  • Milk – 1 ½ litre

 

Method :

Step 1

Take a pan fry almonds, cashewnuts , raisins and pistachios in 1 tspn of ghee , keep it aside.

Step 2

Heat remaining ghee in the same pan and add grated carrots in it , roast them for  4-5 mins

Step 3

Now add milk over roasted carrot stir well and cook until milk has completely evaporated

Step 4

Add required amount of sugar init

Step 5

Cook until halwa thickens

Step 6

Before turning off flam  add cardamom powder and mix well

Step 7

Then add roasted almonds, cashew nuts, raisins, pistachios  and grated khova ( ½ cup )

Step 8

Serve it in a bowl and garnish it with reserved khova
