How to Make Chole Masala Powder at Home

Ingredients for Chole Masala Powder

  • Cumin Seeds – 2 Tbsp
  • Cinnamon – 2 inch
  • Cloves – 8-10
  • Black cardamom – 1
  • Carom seeds (ajwain) – ½ Tsp
  • Black peppercorns – 2 ½ Tsp
  • Dry fenugreek leaves – 1 Tsp
  • Tirphal – 3-5
  • Pomegranate seeds (anardana) – 2 Tbsp
  • Bay leaves – 8-10
  • Whole dry red chilies – 8-10
  • Dry mango powder – 1 Tsp
  • Dry ginger powder – ½ Tsp
  • Salt – 1 Tsp
  • Black salt – 2 Tsp

Method

  • Heat a kadai, Dry roast the cumin seeds, coriander seeds, cinnamon, cloves, black cardamoms, carom seeds, peppercorns, dry fenugreek leaves, tirfal, pomegranate seeds, bay leaves and whole dry red chilies.
  • After dry roasting them keep it aside to cool and grind them along with dry mango powder, dry ginger powder, salt and black salt.
  • Chholay masala powder is ready you can store them in an airtight container.
