Chicken Pulao Recipe Step by Step

Ingredients for Chicken Pulao Recipe

  • Boneless chicken – 250 grams (cut into ½ inch cubes)
  • Basmati Rice – 1 ¼ cups (soaked)
  • Curd – ¼ cup
  • Ginger garlic paste – 3 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee – 2 Tbsp
  • Green cardamoms – 3
  • Cinnamon stick – 1 inch
  • Cumin seeds – ½ Tsp
  • Bay leaf – 1
  • Cloves – 3
  • Onion – 1 medium (sliced)
  • Tomatoes – 2 medium (chopped)
  • Chilli powder – ½ Tsp
  • Chicken stock – 2 cups

Method

  • Take a bowl, add curd and ginger garlic paste, whisk well together
  • Add chicken pieces and salt and marinate it for one hour
  • Now in a microwave casserole mix ghee, green cardamoms, cinnamon, cumin seeds, bay leaf, cloves, and onion.
  • Cook it uncovered, on Microwave high (100%) for a couple of minutes
  • Mix in tomatoes and chili powder
  • Cook it uncovered, on Microwave high (100%) for 5 minutes
  • Now add the chicken with marinade.
  • Cover and cook it on Microwave high (100%) for 3-4 minutes
  • Add the rice and chicken stock, add salt to taste and cover again cook it on Microwave high(100%) for 20 minutes
  • While serving sprinkle the kewra water and serve hot
